Annegret Richter

Annegret Richter is the new Festival Director of the International Short Film Festival –Filmfest Dresden, since May 2009. She became Research Fellow at the Institute of Communication and Media Studies at Leipzig University after completing her studies there in 2002. Aside from her work as film editor for diverse radio stations and magazines, Richter has also been actively involved with the International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animation Film since 2001 and curated the special animated documentary programme there in 2008. Animated documentaries also happen to be the theme of her dissertation

Alfred Holighaus

Alfred Holighaus is responsible for the acquisition and presentation of German films at the Berlinale Festival and is director of the Berlinale section “Perspektive Deutsches Kino“.  He is also project director at the German Film Academy and is a producer and writer. From 1986 – 95 he was editor-in-chief of TIP magazine. In 1995 he took over the Department of Project Development and Material and Film Purchase at Senator Film Productions and in 2000 became managing director of Senator Film Ltd for one year. His publications include “TIP- Filmjahrbuch“ (“TIP Yearbook of Films”) and “Der Filmkanon – 35 Filme, die Sie kennen müssen“ (“35 Films you have to See”).

Burghart Klaußner

Burghart Klaußner has acted on nearly every prominent stage throughout the German speaking realm and has frequently worked for television. Notable cinema appearances include, “Good Bye Lenin!” (2003), Requiem (2006), “The Edukators” (2004) for which he received the German Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2005 and “The Man from the Embassy” (2006), which won him the Silver Leopard for Best Actor at Locarno. In 2009 he appeared in the Oscar nominated feature, “The Reader” playing the judge. Klaußner’s most recent work includes his outstanding performance as the parson in the current cinema feature, “The White Ribbon (2009)”, which won the Palme d’or at Cannes this year.
