KRIWI (NuFolk, Minsk/Berlin): KRIWI is the most prominent new-folk / world music band to emerge from Belarus, a still relatively unknown country with a fascinating musical tradition. As yet there are still very few artists experimenting with traditional sounds in Belarus’ small contemporary music scene. KRIWI’s music is an electrifying mix of old Belarusian folk and modern sounds, implementing the use of arrangements and improvisation to provide a framework for hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes and other traditional instruments to meet modern synthesiser technology. The band members developed their unique style while investigating the boundaries of new folk and experimental music.

DJ PIXIE (Eastern Beats, Berlin): As co-owner of the EASTBLOK MUSIC label and resident DJ at the legendary club ROSIS in Berlin, DJ Pixie knows how to throw an Eastern European party. Pixie has been playing sounds from the East for more than eight years at diverse events throughout Europe, including unforgettable sets at Cannes Film Festival last year.  His parties mix the freshest sounds from the East in a rollercoaster ride from Gypsy to Ska and Rock, right up to Beats and Electro. A wild time is guaranteed!

Whatever DJ Team

Independent Eighties Floor (V.U.P.):

The eighties have influenced the present day in numerous ways: Not only do they signify societal change and the early years of interfilm but an extreme diversity of music styles that continue to shape pop music today. And while the pop music scene continues to evolve, the eighties reference is here to stay! Reason enough for the V.U.P (“Very Unimportant Person”) room to devote its dance floor to independent pop music from the past 25 years.

Whatever DJ Team (80s Pop & Indie-Rock, Berlin): Six years ago Diskokeule Mario and DJ Rico started playing indie pop and dance sounds in rural areas. But they were obviously destined for bigger things: before they’d hardly even set foot in Berlin they had already become resident DJs at Rosis , Frannz and KingKongKlub, and are known throughout Germany for their sweat-inducing sets.

Young Berlin Underground Floor (Pool):

Far beyond the confines of the commercial realm, various Berlin neighbourhoods have developed new musical contrasts, driven by artistic spirit and the motivation to proceed to action. Regardless of whether it’s a public park, on or under a bridge or in an industrial wasteland, the party happens wherever the turntables arrive.
