SYMPOSIUM: Film projects with children and youth
A treat for all teachers, filmmakers, media educators and related initiatives, the symposium entitled "Film projects with children and youth – Media competence and creative experience", will be held on Wednesday 17 November from 10am-7:30pm, at "WABE" cultural centre in Prenzlauer Berg. The symposium is organised as part of the KUKI Festival.
In addition to presentations given by "Schlesische 27" the International Youth Art and Culture Center, the Children's Film Academy (Kinderfilmuni) organised by "Konrad Wolf" Film Academy and the project known as "Kinder machen Kurzfilm!" ("Kids Make Shorts!") the program also comprises a project exchange, a concise talk entitled, "The world in pictures - participation through media competence" and a "World Café". The seminar will be concluded with a KUKI screening, the special program "Naturally Film" at Filmtheater am Friedrichshain, in which many of the films have been made by children.
Admission to the symposium is free of charge.

A great number of filmmakers from all over the world submitted their films to KUKI this year. Busy curators and viewing teams worked their way through a mountain of material and have once again pieced together an exciting, entertaining and informative program. KUKI will be held two weeks after Berlin's autumn school holidays, giving all our young and not-so young fans a chance to get ready for another season of "Shorts for Kids". The festival kicks off on 14.11.2010 and runs until 21.11.2010, once again presenting a fascinating world of richly diverse cultures and experiences.

KUKI Goes Green
This year KUKI has turned its spotlight on "nature and the environment". Showing theme-related films from all over the world in a special school program, we invite all interested students and teachers to come and be charmed by the world of nature and the environment.
The program will be screened on Monday 15 November at 9am and on Wednesday 17 November at Filmtheater am Friedrichshain.
