KuKi Workshop

interfilm did some hands-on promotion of young talents this year with a children's script competition and subsequent production workshop. The interfilm team visited five Berlin elementary schools (Modersohn Grundschule, Friedrichshain; Grundschule an der Marie, Prenzlauer Berg; Brüder Grimm Grundschule, Wedding; Fanny Hensel Grundschule, Kreuzberg and Grips Grundschule, Tiergarten) and held an introduction to scriptwriting and storytelling. 100 children between 10 and 12 then wrote imaginative, funny, sad, long and short stories on the nature theme “Don't just throw me away!” and a jury picked the story “Gesprächige Zimmerpflanzen” (Talkative Houseplants) by two students from the Grips Grundschule for the production workshop. A group of 20 children turned the story - about vain sunflowers, timid potted plants, grouchy cactuses and a little boy who learns to see nature in a new way - into moving pictures. The production will be the opening film at every KuKi program screening. In addition, an exhibit with all submitted scripts and their authors will take place at the Hackesche Höfe Kino.

interfilm offers heartfelt thanks to our sponsors: Zapf Umzüge, NSB Naturschutzblätter, and the Wolfgang und Gerda Mann Stiftung – Medien für Kinder, whose support made the project possible. With friendly support from KMAntenne, Clip Medienzentrum, Artemisia Feinkost and BSR.
