Here is an exciting project for school classes!
Along with five environmental film festivals, INTERFILM is collaborating on the Creative Europe MEDIA educational project "Food on Film", initiated by the international organisation Slow Food.
In the 2024–2025 school year alone, over 130 classes with more than 2,000 pupils from Italy, France, Montenegro, Austria and Germany took part, exploring what a fairer, more sustainable future could look like.
This time we're bringing two offers to the table, one for each age group:
a) All year round: the Food on Film online platform available for secondary school pupils aged 14–19 and their teachers. It turns the big topics like nutrition, climate, health and social justice into something genuinely digestible. Teachers and pupils alike get access to the platform developed by CinemAmbiente - here is the film catalog as a PDF featuring 35 curated films with German subtitles, plus accompanying teaching materials, a live-action role-playing game, tools for uncomplicated filmmaking, and the chance to try out film curation first-hand at our upcoming "Food on Film Online Film Festival"
Everything is built to spark discussion and to slot easily into language, ethics or art lessons.
This makes it easy and flexible to integrate the films into various subjects!
Here you find the platform!
b) For the younger ones: during KUKI and INTERFILM, we've put together a specially curated screening followed by a two-part workshop on sustainability, the environment and of course food! On Thursday, 12 November at FEZ, children aged 7 to 11 will get hands-on with stop-motion filmmaking and cooking! Places at the screening are limited to three or four school classes, and the workshop — for both cooking and stop-motion tables — only to one school class.
Best of all: both are completely free!
If you would like to have access to the online platform or register for the screening plus the two-part workshop please contact our colleague Javier Weisson Dubke: javier.wd@interfilm.de.
Many thanks and best regards,
