Food on Film - Stories to Feed a New World

Here is an exciting project for school classes!

Along with four environmental film festivals, INTERFILM is collaborating on the EU-funded educational project ‘Food on Film,’ which was initiated by the international organisation Slow Food Italia.

The project is aimed at secondary school pupils aged 15–19 and their teachers – and best of all, participation is free of charge.

In the 2024–2025 school year, **over 130 classes with more than 2,000 pupils** from Italy, France, Montenegro, Austria and Germany took part, addressing issues relating to a fairer and more sustainable future across Europe.

What is it about?

“Food on Film” brings film into the classroom as an educational tool and makes key topics such as nutrition, climate, health, and social justice easy for students to digest. Teachers get access to an online platform developed by the environmental film festival CinemAmbiente—here is the film catalog as a PDF—featuring 35 curated films with German subtitles on six key topics, supplemented by accompanying educational material that stimulates discussion and makes it much easier to explore the content in depth in the classroom.

This makes it easy and flexible to integrate the films into various subjects!

Here is the platform!

If you would like to access the online platform and delve deeper into the Food on Film project, please contact our colleague Javier Weisson Dubke: javier.wd@interfilm.de.
