interfilm Festival Distribution

interfilm Berlin - Festival Distribution

Participating in festival competitions plays a pivotal role in the success of short films as it provides them with the optimal opportunity to garner significant attention, not only from the audience but also from distributors, sales agents, broadcasters, and production studios.

Starting from 2023, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) has rectified the shortfall in funding for distribution and is currently backing a festival distribution program, which includes a two-year submission service for German short films facilitated by interfilm Berlin.

The interfilm Berlin festival distribution service aims to streamline, enhance, and consolidate the placement of films at festivals, complementing the services offered by AG-Kurzfilm and German Films for filmmakers. This will be advantageous for both festivals and filmmakers. Filmmakers can thus focus on what matters most: creating and showcasing outstanding short films, as well as enjoying premieres and award ceremonies.

The new festival distribution will be managed by Lucy Pizaña and Anne Isensee. With their expertise, they will develop the appropriate individual strategy for short films, handle the submissions, and the communication between festivals and filmmakers.
