Maya feels at home with her family, but her appearance constantly raises questions. Strangers ask why her skin is brown while her family's is white. When a supermarket employee fails to recognize her as part of her family, it hits her hard. But instead of retreating, she writes a song to share her story. MAYA’S SONG is a film about self-acceptance and the longing to be seen—not for the color of one’s skin, but for who one truly is.
