SP 01 Berlin Beats

Berlin is a freeze frame – of motion and stagnation all at once. Perhaps no other metropolis is so torn at the moment, so characterised by a state of “raging stasis”. Forward motion is merely a form of posturing. “Poor but sexy” has always been the most bold-faced of all perfidious lies. And techno is the echo of the past. Everything changes, only to stay the same in the end. Escape and sanctuary go hand in hand in this city and there is a ton of longing latent in the searching movements of its inhabitants, caught in life’s repetitive loops, queuing, on hold, hoping to break out, hoping to kick a hole in the fabric of suspension.
