PA 03 Diversity in Filmmaking - Changing the Narrative?

How diverse is the German-speaking film industry? How can the perspectives of all individuals be represented in film, both concerning storylines and the filmmakers involved? The diversity checklist from Filmförderung Schleswig-Holstein (FFSH) and the study "Diversity in Film: Survey on Diversity and Discrimination in front of and behind the Camera" are intended to advance the goal of an inclusive working environment in the film industry. But does diversity work via checklists? Can a survey reveal entrenched structures? And what influence does all this have on creativity?

Speaker: With Skadi Loist (Professor for Production Cultures in Audiovisual Media Industries at the Film University Babelsberg), Tyron Ricketts (Producer, Actor and Managing Director of Panthertainment) and Caprice Crawford (Actress and Founder of the Crawford Talents International Acting Agency), moderated by Lioba Grunow (Actress). Further perspectives of people from the industry will be brought into the discussion in the form of videos.

All events are free of charge and held in English. The events will take place online and the Zoom link is available by registration via interforum@interfilm.de.
