Three Questions for the Director

1. Short Film has a unique way of telling stories and exploring themes. What is it that fascinates you about the short format?

Short films allow to tell stories, ideas and social excerpts in a special way. It is compact but still elaborate, it can be one minute or 30. In my opinion the art of making shorts films is to be brave enough to tell stories in such a authentic and intense way, that the observer feels like to be part of the journey and characters. But the most fascinating thing that this format is not dependent on time and can impact just as intense as feature films.

2. The program your film is selected for is called “Girls* Riot!": What connection do you see between your film and that title?

My film is not only about rage and an individual soul, but also an outcry to young girls and women in our society. I wanted to capture thoughts and present conditions that effect me as a young woman. We are living in times of changed revolt and in someway my film is a riot, just like theme of this festival.

3. What film has inspried you most to make films yourself and what part of it do you see in your own work?

I remember watching Billy Elliot from Stephen Daldry with 6 years. I was so moved and fascinated, the music, the picture, the actors, the dances. It is the favorite movie of my mother, because she and my father are also dancers and I see them relating so much to this little boy, crying for the freedom to express himself. To break free through dance. I was very early confronted with the film industry because my mother is also an actress and today I essentially work as an actress. I love all forms of art whether music, film, dance or acting, I enjoy to express myself with different mediums or much more it is necessary for me.
