PA 01 !Cancelled! - Diversity in Filmmaking - Discussing Changes

The panel "Diversity in Filmmaking - Discussing Changes" is cancelled. The reasons are complex, but they boil down to one thing: people affected by structural discrimination in the film industry are tired of talking. They want to act, to create, to realize projects. As a festival, this also means for us to draw consequences and to cancel a panel that receives a lot of interest, but at which hardly anyone wants to speak for a variety of reasons, all of which are understandable. This is also a terminological problem - it's not as if only a "diversity panel" discusses diversity in any form. And that's a good thing. Instead of adressing diversity at only one panel, it is part of every single one of the events. Our motivation to offer publicity to marginalized people at our festival is unbroken, a panel might just not be the right space and so with regard to next year and in cooperation with other initiatives we will look for other ways to offer possibilities of representation, exchange and production.
