EV 03 Sound & Vision

As sound began to gain a foothold in cinema in the mid-1920s, gradually usurping the silent film, there was no shortage of stubborn sceptics who couldn't see a future for the talkies. With Sound & Vision, interfilm once again brings the audio and the visual together in a new way: current short films receive the live alternative soundtrack treatment from a host of talented musicians. At the interface between cinema, installation and live visuals, a fresh experience of symbiotic sound and moving image unfolds in the unique acoustic environment of the Volksbühne.
