DOC 01 Tales from the Anthropocene

In the realm of documentary film, the relationship between humankind and nature may seem like a worn-out trope. Alas, the filmmakers featured in this program prove otherwise: searching for untapped potential and highly personal forms of expression to re-examine this classic dynamic, they probe documentary storytelling itself, by exploring the forms it can take, and manage to find ways to capture the radically new living conditions of the Anthropocene in sound and images. How does film speak about the world when humanity itself has become the determining force of nature?
