"One needs to have seen them," Wiglaf Droste wrote laconically in Germany's taz daily paper in 1986 about the "intimacy, immediacy and rapidly developed situational comedy" of Michael Brynntrup's Super-8 films. Across 400 pages, the filmmaker's new volume of images and text celebrates the magic of the Super-8 phenomenon. A mix between monographic show and independent opus, this "material book" (as Brynntrup himself refers to it) collages photos, graphic work and drawings, diary entries, reviews and film sketches. A dialogue between text and image, between yesterday and today – sensual, blasphemous, provocative and resolutely queer.

Introduction and book presentation are in German, the films are subtitled in English.
