A central component of this program is the description of open and concealed discrimination based on sexual orientation and of effective individual resistance to the former. Young filmmakers bravely stake out positions on contemporary issues such as the violation of human rights, while also examining how structural poverty and resistance to sexual exploitation can be tackled using humour and creativity. Members of society's lower classes manage to achieve self-empowerment – at times combatively, at times playfully – against systemically superior opponents.
