Well, guess that was it. Humankind has fought tooth and nail to repress any realisation that the path of growth and ruthless exploitation is not beneficial for the biosphere that makes our existence possible in the first place. Now, as the Anthropocene depletes the planet, countless rib-eyes are still sizzling away on the grill and no one seems to find a gasoline-fuelled run to the supermarket worth rethinking. 50 years ago, the Club of Rome presented its report on the limits of growth. The films in this program testify to how we have broadly chosen to ignore its warnings, and to how little has changed over the intervening half-century.
