Jury

Francy Fabritz

Francy Fabritz is a camerawoman and director living in Berlin. Her films tell queer-feminist stories in a humorous way. Her short films ETAGE X (2016) and REVOLVO (2019) won several awards and have been screened world-wide. NICO (2021) was her first feature as a camerawoman and co-writer and was nominated for the German film award 2022. Among Francy’s latest works are the queer talk show “Tomorrow TV” and the SciFi fiction feature UKI by Shu Lea Cheang. At the moment, she is writing the screenplay for her directorial debut film.

Julia Niethammer

Julia Niethammer is a Producer at Chromosom Film. Developing projects belongs to her main areas of focus. Julia produced the hybrid documentary ISLAND OF THE HUNGRY GHOSTS (2018) by Gabrielle Brady, which won more than 20 international awards and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award in 2019. Julia has an academic background in Media Science, Anthropology and Cultural Science from Marburg University. She started in film production with Flying Moon Filmproduktion in Berlin, before joining Chromosom in 2012. She is a TFL-Script editing Alumni.

Romane Pangrazzi

Romane Pangrazzi graduated with a degree in political sociology and cultural expertise, before joining the Brussels Short Film Festival team in 2016, where she is in charge of the development of industry events and young audience workshops. She is a member of the international selection committee, and now co-coordinates the event, whose 26th edition will take place from 26 April to 6 May 2023.

Tutors

Martina Bleis

Martina Bleis is an expert on international co-productions, co-production markets and project presentations for features and series. She is the head and project curator of the Berlinale Co-Production Market, and has been part of its key team since the start of the event in 2004. She also works for the East-West co-production market connecting cottbus since 2011, and often consults as a curatorial advisor, lecturer, mentor, moderator or jury member at other international training and co-production initiatives, festivals and film funds. Current additional activities include work for New Nordic Films Haugesund, Mediterranean Film Institute, Film Fund Vienna, and others occasionally. In addition to her MA in Applied Cultural Sciences, she is a graduate of the EAVE Producers Workshop, and she is a member of the European Film Academy.

Andrea Schwemmer

Andrea Schwemmer studied theatre, film studies and acting in Berlin and was a member of several renowned theatre ensembles. She has been part of interfilm Berlin since 2007, currently as Senior Programmer, Jury Coordinator and Head of Acquisition at the interfilm Sales & Distribution. In addition to that she co-programmes the midlength films competition at the Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis and is Head of Jury Coordination there as well. She works as an acting coach for the Young Talents Acting School, gives pitching trainings i.a. for the DFFB Berlin and KUKI Film Festival and emcees screenings and award ceremonies at international festivals and institutions. Her latest project was to be involved with Kinder machen Kurzfilm as an acting coach and on - set coach. She is a member of the all female Swing Band The Toolbox Orchestra, which is located in Berlin.

Marijana Verhoef

Marijana Verhoef is a Berlin based writer, dramatist and director. She graduated in Dramaturgy and Creative Writing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and has finalized her traineeship as a Story Editor at TorinoFilmLab. Her plays premiered at numerous theatres such as Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Augsburg Theater and Maxim Gorki Theater and she has been also working with diverse storytelling formats, including animation, soundwalks and short documentaries. Verhoef is currently studying film directing at the German Academy for Film and Television Berlin.

Sandra Stöckmann

Sandra Stöckmann studied in Bonn, Buenos Aires and Berlin. She holds a degree in political sciences and another one in scriptwriting from the DFFB. As part of the writers‘ collective Q3, she writes scripts for series, feature films and short films. When writing she is fascinated by the contradictions of people. Why do we do what we do? Why are we who we are? Hers are no black-and-white stories but they have many shades and always an eye on our constantly changing society. She is creator and head writer of the TV drama series WIR, head writer of several seasons of the youth web series DRUCK and wrote a docu drama about Angela Merkel and the refugees.
