Surviving Auschwitz as a Sinti woman and living life after; creating an homage to your aunt who sacrificed herself to set a sign against racism; exploring 20 years since a racist arson attack; fighting your way through the onslaught of hundreds of neo-Nazis; coming to Germany as boat people in the hope for a better future: The five documentary and animation films of this program are dedicated to the resistance in remembrance and the dignified commemoration of the victims and survivors of the Holocaust and racist violence in Germany.

In her essayistic documentary, Cana Bilir-Meier assembles fragments of poems, television reports and sound recordings into a cinematic memory of her aunt Semra Ertan: She came to Germany in 1972 as a migrant worker, worked as a technical draftswoman and interpreter, and wrote over 350 poems.
