Who knew that there's a street-food dish in Uganda called "Rolex"? The name comes from "rolled eggs". Or who would have guessed that Ubuntu and uppercut can be used together in the same sentence – even in a title? Our spotlight this year falls on the Central-African nation of Uganda: here filmmakers shine a light on sexuality, feminism and injustice – while occasionally tackling dafter topics, when the mood strikes. Some programs offer a little bit of everything! Curated by Ali Musoke and Patience Katushabe.
