SP 08 TeenScreen: Girls* Riot!

What subjects are important to young women? The 15-to-18-year-old program curators don't hold back here: they slam their subjects down onto the table, and they don't give a damn about taboos. Alongside a rousing documentary film and brave, sensitive stories, "Girls* Riot!" also presents a lively animated work that manages just fine with no dialogue. Gripping and empathetic, these films guide us through topics like abdominal pain and violence, mother-daughter relationships, friendship and community, as well as oppression and the male gaze.
