IC 08 Stepping into Tomorrow

How different are the ways in which individuals cope with loss, illness and self-discovery when we stop to examine them? This program encompasses everything from a battle with cancer to a young woman's longing for more autonomy. Six friends drive to Poland's Baltic coast, giddy and reckless, while an Egyptian son tries to fulfil his late mother's final wish. In South Africa, a conflict escalates inside a stately mansion, and old cassettes give a father in Haiti something to hang on to. The through-line: vibrant, emotional and unflinching approaches to moving on.

All films will be shown in their original language with English subtitles.
