Documentary Competition

Change through solidarity, resistance through vulnerability, movement through settling in: this year's Documentary Competition takes a look at the world that is as objective as it is subjective, placing both perspectives on an equal footing and asking how we can look towards the future and become productive. Not in the sense of the capitalist principle of performance, but instead seeking an approach to coexistence based on solidarity and an empowered self-image.

How can we come together? How can we find our way to ourselves? Where do we feel at home and how can we create a sense of belonging? In three programs with different thematic focuses, we examine the contemporary documentary short film and its potential both to make the personal political and to carry the political into the realm of the personal. Because true resistance starts where these two layers overlap!
