In the 11th edition of interfilm's international Script Pitch, we focus on the stories that are at the beginning of every good movie. In eight pitches, writers from Georgia, Hong Kong, Iran, Lebanon, the Netherlands, South Africa and the United Kingdom will present their short film scripts to a professional audience and a jury! The eight screenplays and nine authors were selected by Rebecca Heiler, Maria Cristina Hervas, Tavo Ruiz and Mima Simić from more than 160 submissions.
Take five minutes each to learn about magical trees and phones, haunted houses, tragic mistakes, feelings of alienation, bureaucracy at its best and memories of queer people in unexpected places. The pitch will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the event hall of Haus 13 in Pfefferberg. The jury evaluating the projects consists of Boris Hadžija (filmmaker, musician), Giulia Triolo (producer) and Amelia Umuhire (filmmaker, artist).
The best pitch will be honored with the Best Script Pitch Award, which is endowed with 2,000 euros in prize money and a tailor-made lab with six sessions, sponsored by our partner CineSud. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on Saturday evening.
After the pitches, the audience will have the opportunity to talk to the authors and filmmakers behind the scripts at a small reception.
The event will be held in English. All industry guests are invited; please register at interforum@interfilm.de.

The Script Lab begins with dramaturgical basics. Authors work on their material online in a two-day script development seminar with Gaia Meucci-Astley and Tavo Ruiz. During the seminar, the authors receive group and individual feedback. Actress, coach and long-time interfilm curator Andrea Schwemmer prepares the participants for speaking in front of an audience in her Voice & Body Awareness Coaching. The authors can perfect their pitch in pitch training with Brigid O'Shea before it's time to go on stage in front of an audience on Friday.
