PORT 01 Portuguese Short Film Agency - Colonial Continuities

"Colonial Continuities" presents short films from the PALOP nations – an acronym for the African countries where Portuguese is an official language. The works here reflect on the colonial past and its reverberations into the present, shedding light on memories, identities and post-colonial scars. From fleeting childhood recollections to the rise of a rap pioneer, from a return to Cap Verde to the hardships of urban violence – these films provide multi-layered insights into history, power structures and resistance.
