FORUM 03 Case Study: Undo Censorship (Ctrl+Z) – The Director’s Cut! with Somar Jbawi & Alfoz Tanjour

Censorship destroys more than images – it also cuts down memories, voices and visions for the future. Undo Censorship: The Director’s Cut details how Syria's filmmakers were forced to struggle against state control for years. The film presents restored scenes and the original version of Little Sun (2007), supplemented by interviews with director Alfoz Tanjour, exposing the way that political power manipulates art while, at the same time, revealing how film can return as a form of resistance. A compelling testimony to the banal evils of control, the desire for freedom and the power of memory.
