GC 04 Mind Travels

"Mind Travels" guides us beyond the realms of the sayable, the real and the fantastic. We travel to a mother whose love may be strong enough to save a daughter possessed by spirits. We linger for a moment, caught in the infinite world of vector graphics, and stroll through former East Berlin in a bear costume. We take a voyage through time to a dystopian future, in which a replica of Hannover has become an archive of the West. Mystical creatures beckon us inside their inner worlds, and Wafaa's songs allow us to imagine the longing, fears, hopes and past that shaped them in their native Gaza.

The films in German Competition will be shown in their original language with English and German subtitles.
