A month after the rigged elections, the Georgian government announced the suspension of the country’s integration into the EU. Thousands of citizens took to the streets to protest and faced unprecedented violence from riot police, going far beyond the conventional use of tear gas. Up to 500 cases of torture were registered, and dozens of peaceful demonstrators were arrested on false charges. Ten short films present the stories of people detained on political grounds.
The films can be seen as an installation at Sternschuppen / Pavillion at Volksbühne. They are not part of a classic screening but are publicly shown in the windows of the guest office there.
