At this year’s 41st International Short Film Festival interfilm Berlin (4–9 November 2025), the spotlight will once again shine on fresh voices and bold visions in screenwriting. As part of Script Pitch @ Interforum, eight talented writers from around the world will present their projects to an international jury and audience.
Selected from over 300 submissions, these finalists bring with them daring narratives, unique cultural perspectives, and cinematic ideas that push the boundaries of storytelling. Over the course of the Script Lab and Pitch Training, they will refine their projects with the support of mentors before stepping on stage to deliver their pitches.
Here are the participants of Script Pitch 2025:
EJ GAGUI (Erick Jerard Gagui) – The Birds Knew Our Language (Philippines)
Mohammadreza MAYGHANI – Diagram of Collapse (Iran)
Mahmoud IBRAHIM – Kafr el Dawwar – Athens (Egypt)
Daniel STERLIN-ALTMAN – Lovers in a Dangerous Time (Canada/Germany)
Ružica Anja TADIĆ – LAKI (Serbia)
Huyền-Chi MAI – Where Shall I Lay This Body (Vietnam)
Jabu Nadia NEWMAN – Bound (USA)
Laura VAN DER ZEE – The Last Symptom (Netherlands)
The Script Pitch is not only a competition for the Script Pitch Award (2,000 € prize money), but also a platform for meaningful dialogue, exchange, and international collaboration. Each finalist will have just five minutes to convince the jury of their vision – a thrilling challenge and a chance to take their project one step closer to realization.
