Call for Scripts

At the heart of InterForum, the fringe program for industry professionals and film enthusiasts at interfilm Berlin, is the International Script Pitch. Since 2013, interfilm has been inviting authors of innovative short films to Berlin to work on their screenplays and, after an intensive week of workshops and coaching, to pitch them to an international jury.

In November 2025, the 12th edition of Script Pitch will take place in Berlin, parallel to the interfilm Berlin International Short Film Festival, from 4 to 9 November 2025. In October 2025, the scriptwriters will prepare their scripts in a two-day online workshop together with their tutors.

We’re looking for captivating screenplays and pitches for short films that blow us away!

All screenwriters and writer-directors are invited to submit their script and a project presentation for the 12th International Script Pitch at the 41st International Short Film Festival interfilm Berlin. Eight participants will be selected to take part.

Be part of an inspiring 6-days Script Lab incl. a Pitch Training and informal meet & greet opportunities for film professionals.

The deadline for submissions is 16 June 2025. We will collect all submissions and begin the reading process at the end of June. Selected participants will be notified in August.

Program

In preparation for the Script Pitch Competition on 8 November 2025, all participants will take part in a six-day Script Lab. The practical and stimulating workshop program includes a script development seminar to sharpen participants' creative skills, which takes place online in October, and on-site workshops during the festival week in November, such as a pitch training session where each contestant's live performance will be evaluated by industry experts.

Script Pitch participants have the opportunity to meet international filmmakers, writers and industry experts at exclusive informal networking events at the interfilm Berlin International Short Film Festival.

On 8 November 2025, the eight finalists will have 5 minutes each to pitch their projects and convince the international jury of their idea.

To maximise networking between creative and industry professionals in an open forum - and to celebrate their pitches - The finalists, the jury, and the audience are invited to our interforum drinks on the afternoon of the competition.

The entire competition will we held in English.
