FT 01 Curators’ Choice – A handpicked selection from our festival programmers

How are the schedule and events for a festival determined? Who selects the films and what are the decisions that lead to one film being chosen over another? In CURATORS’ CHOICE, the INTERFILM curators share their thoughts on everything from the initial submission of a film to the public screening of a film. Using several examples of films they will give their insight on the curatorsʼ thought process and discuss how a film progresses through these stages.

FT 02 Focus on: Colombia  – Finding your own way

Urban and rural, guerilla and family: Opposites shape the current direction in short films from Colombia. And the diversity of the short films shows it, ranging from the attempt to deal with the country’s past to questions about belonging and identity. It is expressed in experimental approaches, unusual styles of animation, and traditional fictional films. Moviemakers from the country will answer questions about the current state of affairs in Colombia and talk about their films (clips will be shown) at the FILM TALK.

FT 03 Making Of Wes Anderson's "Isle of Dogs" – Behind the scenes with Lead Animator and Head of Painting

They make characters using metal, fabric, and resin, and these characters grow on us, make us laugh and cry. As meticulously designed, crafted, painted, dressed, and animated the film is, as passionately Kim Keukeleire, the Lead Animator, and Roy Bell, the Head of Painting, talk about creating the stunning details of the wondrous world of ISLE OF DOGS. They provide a fascinating insight into their work and talk about how they breathed life into the main canine cast including Chief, Rex, King, Duke, Boss, as well as the hunting grounds of Trash Island and Megasaki City.
