Most people come to a point in their lives when they take stock of things so far. The characters in these films, when confronted with the finiteness of their lives, are often triggered to do so. Their reactions are varied. Some people just give up; yet others consider it an opportunity to pursue a nearly forgotten goal in life. Though, without a doubt, their look on life changes.
