In the beginning, it was but a toy for aristocrats and dandies. Nevertheless, the bicycle would soon become a symbol for freedom and independence, whispering – like the wind through the rider’s hair – of escape from a life of limitations, but also from class dynamics. In this era of climate change, it embodies hope for a better future, serves as a status symbol in the form of freight or electrically powered mountain bikes, represents a tourist nightmare in big cities in its rentable form, and is emblematic of precarious labor conditions in the hands of countless delivery services. No wonder BIKE SHORTS exist and are more relevant than ever.
