KUKI 13 - International Short Film Festival for Children and Youth Berlin 2020 - Girls* Riot Workshop

Curious about the workshop? To give you an idea, we would like to introduce you to the invited speakers! They will share their individual working experience in the film world with you in a variety of different ways and explore a diverse range of topics surrounding feminism and the female* identity.

Anne Isensee

is an animator and director of animated short films and music videos from Berlin. She first studied a little Media and Sociology before she came to her senses and studied Animation at the Film University Babelsberg and EnsAD Paris. She was an intern at Balance Film AG Dresden, Hahn Film AG and Talking Animals in Berlin, where she worked on the Oscar-nominated animated documentary "Tracing Addai" (2018). Between 2017 and 2018 she lived in Los Angeles for 3 months. Her short films "Megatrick" and "Ich Will" were shown at international festivals. She likes to talk.

Tua El-Fawwal

was born in Egypt, is 22 and lives in Berlin. She is currently studying Social Work/Social Pedagogy at the Alice Salomon University and is on the verge of graduating. She recently won the German Actor Award in the emerging talent category, for her performance in the hit series "DRUCK"! She was the first Muslim actress in Germany to wear a hijab in a leading role and her character became the focus of the fourth season, which was subsequently nominated for the prestigious Grimme Award. She appeared in the feature film "COCOON" and the Warner-Brothers production "Nasser Hund". AND she loves series and sweets, preferably at the same time. 

Brenda Jorde

has been studying Documentary Filmmaking (M.A.) at Film University Babelsberg since October 2018. Before that she received her B.A. in European Media Studies at University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. During her bachelor's degree she studied Journalism in Chile for one semester. Her first short film “Va-Bene” was shown at queer film festivals in Canada, Nigeria and India. She is currently working on her first feature-length documentary. Brenda also works at film festivals in Berlin and as a circus trainer in educational contexts. In 2015, she founded the NGO Rückenwind, a Berlin-based bicycle repair initiative with and for people with an experience of refugee flight that is committed to the development of a solidarity-based society. 

 

Andrea Schwemmer

is an actress, coach and film curator. She studied Pedagogy, Theatre and Film Studies as well as Acting in Berlin and New York. She has been a member of several renowned theatre ensembles, performed in films and TV formats and is a member of the Berlin swing band “The Toolbox Orchestra”. She moderates film screenings, Q&A's, panel discussions as well as award ceremonies and TV shows with film festival content. Andrea also programs short and medium-length films for various festivals (interfilm, Max Opühls Preis, AFFI) and has been working as a coach for the acting school Young Talents since 2012. She gives worldwide acting workshops and pitch training for the Rencontré du Film Court Madagascar, Interfilm Berlin, Jinzhen International Short Filmfestival China and the German Film and Television Academy Berlin DFFB among others.
