Hit The Road, Egg!

Animation, Live Action

Synopsis:
Imagine a set of ovaries as a game of pinball. Super short, ultra colourful and a tad ironic, here's a perfectly reasonable explanation for menstrual pain.

Three Questions for the Director

1. Short Film has a unique way of telling stories and exploring themes. What is it that fascinates you about the short format?

Sabine Redlich: You can tell even unusual stories without giant budgets, big teams or tech-equippement. Needless to say it’s also nice to have all three of that to tell your story even better.

2. The program your film is selected for is called “Die lange Nacht des abwegigen Films”: What connection do you see between your film and that title?

Sabine Redlich: Definetely fits that program, since the story starts a bit out of nowhere, theres a little quirky surprise and it leaves the audience with no clear message. Nevertheless there are potentially weaknesses in its story still it's fun to watch.

3. What film has inspried you most to make films yourself and what part of it do you see in your own work?

Sabine Redlich: I got the first kick out of animations with the stop-trick productions by Michel Gondry. Bringing a fantastic perspective into the rather lackluster life seems a useful way to cope being on this planet.
