An exciting new project for film education and civic education in the classroom
"Kurzfilm im Klassenraum" ("Short Film in the Classroom") is an online platform for SEK I & II that provides inspiring short films for schools all over Germany throughout the year.
18 international contemporary short films! Each film is accompanied by educational materials for teachers and students that focus on both film education and civic education. In addition, we also offer video messages from many of the respective filmmakers that explain the creative process and ideas behind their film.
The license fee of 200€ per school allows all their teachers to unlimited access to the platform for one year.
The film selection includes animations, documentaries, feature films and experimental film formats.
All films are offered in original language versions, as well as with German voice-over as well as German (and in some cases intralingual) subtitles. Their content explores themes of democratic values, environmental awareness, gender, identity, community, diverse representation, and foreign languages.
Through these entertaining and empathetic films, we aim to encourage tomorrow's cinema audiences to think critically and perceive themselves as part of a vibrant democratic society.
The Kurzfilm im Klassenraum project is organized by KUKI Festival Berlin, interfilm Berlin GmbH & Bewegliche Ziele e.V. and was made possible by a one-time grant from KULTUR.GEMEINSCHAFTEN.
