In the boxing ring or military regime, whether of the same age, fishy, purring or alien, we make exceptional friends wherever we go. In a barbershop for Black Hair we unexpectedly find community as well as on the beach in Norway. In the process, we learn to leave ideals of beauty behind and free ourselves from the narratives of others. These works enchant with their poetry and whimsicality, but never lose touch with reality.
