Samra, a heartbroken Tunisian director in her late thirties, finds the perfect male lead for her new romance movie, but during rehearsals, the younger actor Hedi begins to suspect that his role may not be a fictitious one. In the aftermath of being abandoned by her husband, the delusional Samra plans to rewrite her own narrative, leaving audiences guessing where the script ends and true emotions begin.
Maissa Lihedheb (she/her) is a German-Tunisian award-winning director and writer. Her work has screened at Tribeca, BFI, and Interfilm, winning Best German Film and earning a German Film Award nomination. She directed 11 shorts, a feature doc, and a TV show. Currently pursuing her MFA at NYU Tisch, she is President of the Graduate Student Association and an Ang Lee Scholar.
