Synopsis:
The film was created to serve as a music video for Mr. Cat & the Jackal's Bad Man He Comin' from their second album 'Sins & Siren Songs'. Running time: 4:27 min Medium: Stop-Motion Puppetry The concept was created by Marius Joubert and Daneille Jacobs from Yesterfang Puppetry & Animation. The film consists of a total of 8340 photographs taken by Bruce Geils from Flyinghose Photography. The puppets were created on location (Trompsburg, Free State) of the shoot with materials found in the area. Materials used in the process include: animal bones, horse hair, wood, a queue ball, sheep's organs and chicken feathers. The completion of the main character (skeleton) took 10 days and was the only puppet filmed at the above location. The final scene with the other four puppets was shot in an abandoned shed in Swellendam. The project as a whole took 6 months to complete. The video recently won an award for best SFX/Animation at the MK Music Awards 2012 (South Africa). Bad Man He Comin' is also nominated for an award in the Best Animated Music Videos category at the Supertoon International Animation Festival 2012 which takes place in Croatia (28 Jul - 3 Aug 2012). www.yesterfang.com
