Synopsis:
In her essayistic documentary, Cana Bilir-Meier assembles fragments of poems, television reports and sound recordings into a cinematic memory of her aunt Semra Ertan: She came to Germany in 1972 as a migrant worker, worked as a technical draftswoman and interpreter, and wrote over 350 poems. She died in Hamburg in 1982 at the age of 25, burning herself to death in protest against racism in Germany.
