KUKI 2009
After the resounding success of the first KUKI Festival in 2008, the 2nd International Short Film Festival for Children and Youth Berlin has really grown! With more than 740 entries from all over the world, the KUKI team has put together a strong festival programme of exciting, funny and imaginative short films.
It all kicks off at the fabulous opening ceremony on Sunday 1 November at 3pm at Filmtheater am Friedrichshain – our festival cinema this year. The opening screening will feature a selection of competition films as well as the premiere of the film “Through the Big, Fat Wall” (WT) made during the children’s filmmaking workshop “Kinder machen Kurzfilm!”.
The film-packed festival week is sure to please audiences of all ages: There are five competition programmes for children aged 4+, 6+, 10+, 12+ and 14+. While all films are screened in their original language, professional actors will dub each of the programmes up to 12+ inclusive in German, live.
