4th International Short Film Festival for Children and Youth Berlin 2011

This year KUKI – the 4th International Short Film Festival for Children and Youth Berlin drew 4,100 young cinema buffs to the cinemas at Filmtheater am Friedrichshain, 3,000 of which were pupils attending various school programmes. We had 15 visiting filmmakers from Switzerland, Belgium, Iran, Germany, Hungary, Norway, Israel and the Netherlands presenting their films and providing answers to the children's often amazing questions. The most popular KUKI screening proved to be the documentary programme, “Watch the World” which attracted a total of 700 cinema goers. In addition to the opening event the competition screenings for ages 6+ were a clear audience favourite, literally bursting with 600 enchanted and giggling children!

Thanks to all partners and sponsors! Thanks to all the filmmakers who came and braved the toughest and most inspiring audience of all! Thanks to the tireless and wonderful KUKI team, the great staff at the FaF and Passage cinemas and the supportive interfilm gang!

But most of all, thanks to our audience - all children, families, classes, teachers and groups who came to KUKI. This is your festival!
