The INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION is the festival’s centerpiece, and this year as always we had more than 6,000 entries from 120 countries. We have put together ten programs with 79 films from 39 countries aimed at reflecting the wide diversity of the short films produced in the last two years.
Foreign worlds, foreign views become nevertheless familiar to you. Documentaries can achieve this, even if they are only 90 seconds long. In times when the world can seem more and more confusing and strange, the unbiased, curious view of the world and the alien, and also the strangeness, is more and more important.
Where do short films in Germany find their inspiration? The GERMAN COMPETITION once again offers insights into the latest happenings in the world of short films in Germany. A wide variety of people and their fates flash before our eyes on the big screen in four different programs.

Once again we convene in the holy halls of the Volksbühne to take part in a grassroots democratic vote for the weirdest, most peculiar film with nearly 110 minutes of hardcore film action.

3D BODY TALK sets in motion our experience of the third dimension. Minimalist gestures or expressive dynamics are explored in the larger context. VIRTUAL NIGHTMARES – VR HORROR MEETS FULLDOME elevates the horror film.
Festival Openig, "Sound & Vision", HOB: Live Music Cinema presents "The Quest for a Real Hard Hob", a Flipbook Show and the Award Ceremony: interfilm has many events and even parties.
