Drei Fragen an die Regie

1. Short Film has a unique way of telling stories and exploring themes. What is it that fascinates you about the short format?

Sasha Rainbow: I think every story should dictate the film's length. In our case, we really wanted people to be able to have an accessible platform to learn about electronic waste through the human stories we were depicting, so we felt short form would be a great way to do this, to start a conversation with our audience, so to speak.

2. The program your film is selected for is called “Wastland Adventure”: What connection do you see between your film and that title?

Sasha Rainbow: Quite literally, our film is set on one of the biggest e-waste dumps in the world where we follow the adventures of two boys, Kofi and Lartey, on their daily travails!

3. What film has inspried you most to make films yourself and what part of it do you see in your own work?

Sasha Rainbow: If I had to choose one film I always come back to The Wizard Of Oz...it's about a young person, born into circumstances not of their choosing, who decides to change the path of their life and in doing so empowers themselves and others along the way.
