Drei Fragen an die Regie
1. Short Film has a unique way of telling stories and exploring themes. What is it that fascinates you about the short format?
Katali Moldovai: Yes, that is true. Short Film has a unique way of telling stories, is more condensed, and you have to choose exactly the scenes which passes the message you would like to transmit. This is what fascinates me the most of all, and also that in 20 minutes in a short you can get insight in the deep realms of the human existence.
2. The program your film is selected for is called “Hardship of Solitude”: What connection do you see between your film and that title?
Katali Moldovai: The main character of the film is a woman in her 30 s, who attend a natural fertility treatment alone in a deserted spa city, where there is life in summer, but in winter only the emtiness of the after season feeling in floting in the air. This resonates with the lonliness of the charater and shows the vulnarability of the inner craving to bring life forward. She have to deal with all these feeling alone and in this way resonates very well with the title of the program " Hardship of Solitude" .
3. What film has inspried you most to make films yourself and what part of it do you see in your own work
Katali Moldovai: This is quate a hard question. I have a lot, it is not easy to chosse. But with this movie the most ispiring was Cristian Mungiu: Beyond the Hills.
