Wenn Clubgänger wie eine Gemeinde sind, ist das ihre Hymne. Eine Ode an das gemeinschaftliche Fallenlassen und Feiern.
Drei Fragen an die Regie
1. Short Film has a unique way of telling stories and exploring themes. What is it that fascinates you about the short format?
Nick Simpson: It feels less tied down, with less expectations about what it should and shouldn’t be. It’s the punchiness and the intensity and the unknown quantities….so when something hits you it can really hit you hard.
2. The program your film is selected for is called “Die lange Nacht des abwegigen Films": What connection do you see between your film and that title?
Nick Simpson: The Long Night part feels particularly appropriate cause you dance for hours and hours and you come out of the club and it’s day again.
3. What film has inspried you most to make films yourself and what part of it do you see in your own work?
Nick Simpson: Hard to pin it down to one film but I distinctly remember Einar Baldvin’s film 'Catatonic' which blew me away in my first year of uni. I think what I share most with it is the sudden changes of pace and mood that hopefully feel like a handbrake turn.
