With an audience record of 17,000, the 28th International Short Film Festival Berlin came to a euphoric close on Sunday night. 527 films from 71 countries were shown in 58 competition and special programmes. The Viral Video Award had an online audience of 25.000.
More than 681 accredited guests attended this year’s festival, 222 international and German filmmakers and 183 industry professionals.
Prizes amounting to € 24,500 were awarded in seven competition categories.
A particular highlight of this year’s interfilm Festival were the foreign focuses on Iceland and Sub-Saharan Africa.
