1st International Short Film Festival for Children and Youth Berlin 2008

Films and programs can be found at interfilm 2008.

We are happy to welcome you to KUKI, the 1st International Children's and Youth Short Film Festival, and would like to invite you to an exciting week of cinema with films from all over the world.

KUKI - until last year a program focus of the International Short Film Festival Berlin - has taken flight and developed into its own little "festival within the festival". We will start with a big opening event on November 2nd, at 3 pm in the cinema babylon:mitte. On this occasion we will show a selection of our festival program, invite you to try your first animation steps with the Trickboxx of KI.KA, to design and produce buttons, to watch our KUKI-TV team from OKB at work and to celebrate with us.

During the following festival week, we will show four competition programs for ages 6, 10 and 14 and up. We have also put together school programs for different age groups, and on the last day of the festival we will discuss practical film work with children and young people in a specialist panel. All films are shown in their original language and, if required, will be dubbed live in German by professional speakers. A children's and a youth jury will be spoilt for choice to select their favorites, which will then be announced at the festive award ceremony during the 24th International Short Film Festival on November 09 at the Babylon Berlin:Mitte cinema.
