In this contentious time in history, the films in this program take us on a journey from North Dakota to Texas and from Georgia to Arizona, mapping geographies of wishes and dreams unfulfilled. Revealing an America divided by class and race and ruled by the gun, they also show us the common humanity that ultimately bridges the divides. Highlighting 'the land of plenty' and 'the land of the free' from the inside, it becomes clear that the situation is more complicated than media soundbites suggest.
