SP 18 Decible: Shorts on Jazz

100 years ago the Original Dixieland Jass Band made the world’s first ever jazz recordings. In the intervening century jazz has shaped music history, taking on and discarding a multitude of forms, remaining as ever-elusive as it is ever-present. This year DECIBLE honors important jazz musicians, highlighting the genre’s cultural significance and creatively visualizing its myriad of moods and voices. Ranging from the abstract to documentary animation to fictional tales, this program has one common feature: It grooves!
