Families are the basic social unit of organization in a society. Yet what are the bonds that connect the members of a family? For some, families are the only way to keep grounded in a world shaped by flexibility and mobility, and, if necessary, it is sustained by using violence. Yet for others it is a confining microcosm from which there is no escape. The only way to find the sought-after sense of security is to flee into a parallel world filled with frogs.
